And as the world continues to develop, we are firmly committed to long-term collaboration with our customers and partners so that together we can develop new solutions to today's challenges.Elvacite® acrylic resins are either polymers or copolymers of methyl methacrylate or other acrylic monomers used in specialty coatings, inks, adhesives and lacquers. The Elvacite® range offers a distinctive combination of properties:- Outstanding resistance to ultraviolet degradation.- Excellent weatherability.- Superior abrasion resistance.- Excellent resistance to water, alcohol, dilute acids and alkalis, chemical fumes, and corrosive and oxidizing environments.- High gloss and hardness.- Generally low pigment reactivity.- Water-white color and transparency.- Resistance to discoloration from heatingElvacite® resins are available as minute spherical beads in grades that provide different levels ofhardness, flexibility, solubility and solution viscosity. Compatibility with a variety of film formers and plasticizers allows further modification to achieve the exact properties required. All resins in the range are thermoplastic and are thermally stable up to 177-232°C (350-450°F), well above their softening range. At higher temperatures - around 260°C (500°F) or above - they undergo smooth depolymerization to monomers, leaving negligible ash.
